Set up Instructions:
(1) Positioning tip
Rez Task Triumph from your inventory. Be careful not to move Task Triumph until all the pieces have been selected. Task Triumph rezzes as three pieces (the stone base, the planning board, and one task). RightClick one piece > select Edit > while holding down the Shift key > LeftClick the other pieces, until all of the pieces are selected. Now it is ok to move Task Triumph to the general location where you like.
(2) Alignment tip
When Task Triumph is in the general location you want, have a look to see if it is facing the right direction (if so, skip to the next step). If not, you will want to rotate all of the objects together to ensure the tasks slide along the planning board evenly. Select all of the pieces > while selected, at the top of the window, choose the Rotate option (circular rotation rings will appear) > then go to the Object tab > notice the last group Rotation (degrees), and pay close attention to the z text box > while using the selected circular rotation rings to turn around Task Triumph > make sure that the z text box has a square coordinate value (0, 90, 180, 270) when you have finished manually rotating the selected pieces.
(3) Ancillary base
The stone base can be discarded if you prefer.
(4) Congratulations on setting up your Task Triumph!
Usage:
Add a task
Task Triumph rezzes with just one task. As this one task is okCopy, the best aligned way to add a new task is by copying a replica second task from the first task: RightClick the task > select Edit > while holding down the Shift key + also hold down your mouse Left Button to drag (horizontally to the right) a second task from the first task.
Name a task:
Individually name each task. RightClick the task > select Edit > in the Name field, type the name of the task. Close the edit window. LeftClick the 0% button to see the task name display in hovertext.
Percent complete:
As you work through a task, click the appropriate % complete button (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) for the current status to appear updated as hovertext. When the task status is updated, you also receive a confirmation message from the task. Additional recipients you have designated will also have a status update message sent to them. Only the owner of a task can update the status (the % complete buttons only operate for you, the owner).
Status details:
Similar to how you have named a task, there is also a field to write further details of the task status. Below the field is another called Description. Use this Description field to type the current status details of the task. When you press a % complete button, the status details are included within the confirmation message. The status details also appear as part of the message sent to additional recipients. (Note: In order to provide recipients with accurate information, make sure to enter the current status details before clicking a % complete button).
Project Management:
For collaboration, co-worker, and customer status updates, Task Triumph will message avatars listed on the Recipient notecard. Each task has a separate Recipient notecard. The Recipient notecard entries must be listed as SL avatar keys. To open the Recipient notecard RightClick a task > select Edit > select the Contents tab > RightClick the Recipient notecard.
Recipient Keys
Every SL resident has a unique key. Second Life avatars are identified by an alphanumerical thread. Here is the key example character format:
48151623-4248-1516-2342-481fhqwhgads
eight characters – four characters – four characters – four characters – twelve characters
Within the Recipient notecard keys will need to be entered one key per line. In order to obtain someone’s key, ask them to touch the Task Triumph planning board. You (the owner) will receive a message when someone touches the Task Triumph planning board. This message from the Task Triumph planning board includes the avatar name and key. If you would like to get your own key, you can also touch (LeftClick) your Task Triumph planning board. Thus, should you need a team member or customers key, you can ask them to simply touch your Task Triumph planning board. (Note: it is not necessary for you to be nearby when someone touches your Task Triumph planning board. The key is messaged to you). Copy the key from the message and paste the key into the Recipient notecard (to copy [ctrl] + [c], and to paste [ctrl] + [v] ).
Important:
Make sure to paste only one key per line. Do not add commas (or any other punctuation). Begin with the first line. Only paste in keys. Do not enter avatar names. Do not change the name of the Recipient notecard.
Task owner reporting:
If you are the owner of a task, you might want to have the task message % complete update reports to team members or customers. In this case, you will need to enter each avatar key into the Recipient list.
Managers:
If you have the roll of overseeing other team members, you can give a task to a subordinate avatar. 20 transferable tasks are included (Task assignments). For this usage case, you might want to enter the task name, as well as your key, prior to assigning the task. Should other team members need to receive status updates on the assigned task, enter their keys in the Recipient notecard also. Assign the task by giving it to the subordinate avatar. This method will provide you with status update reports as the task is worked on. When the task is complete, your subordinate will be able to rename it as a new task.
