Meeting participants receive this formal drop down notice:

Should you suffer the misfortune of a Second Life server losing your inventory, you can get more copies of your item at the productPM store Express Redelivery Terminal.

Genuine productPM technical support is included with this item.

Set up:

Simply rez Parliamentarian from your inventory.

Operation:

To allow an avatar to speak:

RightClick Parliamentarian > type the speaker avatar name in the description field > close window > LeftClick your Parliamentarian gavel.

This will reset your Parliamentarian gavel.  You will hear a slamming gavel sound effect as the current speaker name floats in hovertext.

Behavior:

When you want to speak, make sure to first type your own name in the Parliamentarian description field, otherwise your avatar will be removed also!  (This owner eject action was included to allow you an easy test to verify that Parliamentarian is working.  While it is clear to see that your avatar was removed; in some instances your name may not appear on the land ban list.).

Choose a good meeting location.  Realize that if you rez your Parliamentarian gavel at a crowded café, it will effect the nearby café tables which may not be participating in your meeting.  So, make sure to pick a spacious location.  Plan perhaps a 50m buffer perimeter around your meeting place.  Chat carries about 20m, so 50m should be relatively safe.

Also consider the limits of Parliamentarian as designed to bring order to a regular sized meeting.  Here, a regular sized meeting being no larger than 40m x 40m with Parliamentarian located in the center of the room.  If you wish to place Parliamentarian on a podium in front of a small audience, keep in mind that SL open chat can only be heard as far as 20m.

Important note: For the removal eject system to function correctly, Parliamentarian should be on land which you are the owner of, or have correctly configured group permissions.

Support note: While Parliamentarian will work when deeded properly on group owned land, technical support assistance by productPM only extends to operation of Parliamentarian on land which the purchaser owns.

FAQ:

1) Question:
I cannot find Tools / Edit / etc…

Answer:
These instructions are based on the official Second Life viewer..  Often productPM documentation refers to accessing an object’s Contents menu.  Right-Click the item > select Edit (or Build if that is currently appearing) > then select the Contents tab.

2) Can your gavel be set to group use?

Answer:
Yes, the Parliamentarian gavel can be deeded to a group (allowing members to change the present speaker); however, productPM does not provide technical support for group use (as there are too many dependency settings with the land owner and group).  The working method is to rez the Parliamentarian gavel by the group owner.  The owner then selects the “share with group” toggle box on the Parliamentarian object.   At this point, other group members can edit the description field to change the speaker.  Selecting “deed to group” is not necessary for eject to work.  Deeding the Parliamentarian gavel will enable the ejected avatar to also be added to the ban list.  Again, yes, the Parliamentarian gavel works with groups, but correctly configuring group/land-owner settings is required.
